Not long after graduating from college, Nicole Abiouness realized that food
and wine was her passion- and, more importantly, that she had to leave
Virginia to find it. So in the fall of 1995 she packed up her belongings and
moved to Napa Valley where she was accepted at The Culinary Institute of
America. After signing up for all the wine courses they had, she eventually
landed in the cellar at Swanson Vineyards. It was here amongst the grape
sampling, juice pumping, barrel filling, even tank shoveling, that she fell
in love with the entire winemaking process- and she wanted to learn more and
more.
