David Harmon started out in the wine business as Robert Mondavi's personal chauffeur in Napa Valley back in 1979. David moved back to his hometown of Indianapolis, IN to work in the helicopter business and ended up flying for Robert Irsay (owner of the Indianapolis Colts). He then started a nationwide helicopter service based in Indianapolis called HELINET and ended up traveling all over the country working on the aerials in motion picture movies like Thelma & Louise, Black Rain, and Basic Instincts to name a few.
Moving back to Napa Valley in 1988, he started Napa Valley Helicopter Tours and ended up selling the company after 5 yrs. In 1995 he founded WINE.COM and sold the company in Sept of 1999. In 2000 he purchased a home and 7 acres of bare land in the Carneros Region of Napa Valley and planted Pinot Noir Vines. In 2003 he started Carneros della Notte Winery. Since then the winery has had it's wines at dinners for the US Presidents, Secretary of State, and International Dignitaries. David spends most of his time between Honolulu, HI and Napa Valley, CA.
